Five for Friday

IKEA! Dangerous word...ha! I went to IKEA and Jungle Jim's with my mom and aunts this week.  It's about 2 hours away and we had so much FUN.  I didn't go too crazy - this time.  My absolute favorite is the apple lamp. I'm pretty sure I squealed when I saw it! I think I'm going to use it to signal I'm busy at teacher table. I have tried wearing crowns and hats but that just isn't me. Well, I do like my Great Wolf Lodge wolf ears but then I forget I have them on...
I also love the "B" bookends but I'm going to say "B" for Bongfeldt (our last name).
Yes, those are tennis balls on our dining room chairs at home. They were scratching up the hardwoods. :)

I LOVE to knit. On the way to IKEA, I started a baby hat with the BEST yarn ever. I'm addicted to this stuff. It's super-duper SOFT fleece. Crystal Palace Yarns makes it and it's called Puffin (how cute!).  It makes the best baby items because you don't have to worry about allergies and it washes well.

The day my boys were going to Boy Scout camp the water heater died. It wasn't too big of a mess - thankfully!  Cora and I decided the laundry room needed a make over. I let her pick the paint and I added the sparkles. :)  Now, I smile when I do laundry!

I added pictures below. The sparkle is very subtle. I cannot seem to do it justice with my photogrpahy skills - OR lack there of... :)

My Aunt Kay is the best. She is always willing to help! Here we are cutting and sorting JD's Rockin Readers Ultimate Guided Reading Toolkit. I cannot wait to use it with parent volunteers, at teacher table, and/or with my teacher table IA.  She wasn't kidding when she said it was a lot of prepping but it comes with a big pay-off!

This is my "Sam-man" at our local police station's community day. He isn't too old for face paint! :)
He looks so much like my brother here...sad/happy heart.
The kids had a blast. We ate snow cones, bounced in bouncy houses, checked out the mounted patrol's horses, and explored the bomb squad's robots.

I hope you are having a great summer, too!

    1. I added pictures. I'm not a great photographer (huge understatement). I think it give you a little idea. If I take the picture of the whole room, you cannot see the shimmer. It's Valspar paint sparkle from Lowe's.

    1. I can't wait to see what you find at IKEA. If they would let us paint our rooms at school, we would both use shimmer! :)

  5. Thank you! I even put the glitter in the ceiling paint. The more packets you add the more sparkles!
